Skovsgaard Estate covers 396.8 hectares and is open to visitors all year round. The Skovsti trail near Skovsgaard is approximately 1.5 kilometres long and wheelchair accessible. It passes through varied forest, wetland and cultural heritage areas.

Konabbe Skov provides direct access to the Påø meadows. They are part of the estate landscape surrounding Skovsgaard Estate. The Påø meadows give the landscape experience a clear connection to the estate.

Village History and Historic Traces

Skovsgård Mill dates from 1904 and stands high on the mill hill; the mill yard lies below it to the south. The arrangement of the mill, hill and yard also makes the site interesting for visitors who wish to experience the landscape and built heritage together.

Konabbe Skov is home to Langeland’s only ship setting. A stone with rock carvings is also located there. The ship setting and the carved stone broaden the perspective on local history.

Hennetved near Skovsgård has a well-preserved village character. It is shaped by dense development consisting of farm labourers’ houses and smallholders’ homes, as well as several farms. The large village of Hennetved was probably established in the Late Middle Ages as a clearance settlement in a forested area.

The half-timbered house at Hennetvedvej 19 was built in 1835 as a farm labourer’s dwelling under the nearby Skovsgård estate. The building at Hennetvedvej 19 in Langeland Municipality is listed as a protected heritage building.

Until now, Skovsgaard Estate has been operated in Hennetved as an organic agricultural, forestry and nature enterprise with active communication about agriculture and nature.

Cycling Through Landscapes and Villages

The 30-kilometre cycling route “Coastal Landscape and Villages” passes Hennetved Haver on its way to the village of Hennetved at junction 33. The route thus creates a clear connection between forest and village without limiting the excursion to a single landscape impression.

The “Coastal Landscape and Villages” route can be cycled in both directions. Depending on your time and preferences, it can be adapted with detours or shorter sections. This flexibility helps you structure a cycling excursion according to the time available to you, without committing to a single direction of travel.
