Gudmindrup on Sejerø Bay: Beach, Nature and Holiday Home

Coast on Sejerø Bay

At Gudmindrup Beach, dunes shape the coastal landscape on Sejerø Bay. Korevle is a barrier coast along Sejerø Bay. The 75-hectare coastal area of Korevle stretches from Gudmindrup Beach to Vig Lyng and has been protected since 1968. For orientation, this creates a succession of open beach scenery, a narrow coastal formation and a larger protected landscape. This sequence directs the eye to the transitions between sand, water and land and gives a stay by the sea more than just a single perspective.

Circular route through Korevle

The northern Korevle circular route begins at the car park on Ellinge Strandvej and follows the path north to the car park near Gudmindrup Beach. At Gudmindrup Beach, the northern Korevle circular route follows the coast southwards across the sandbar and returns to the car park via the southernmost footbridge. Several bridges in Korevle lead from the mainland across lagoon lakes to sandbars. The northern circular route in Korevle is approximately 5 km long and relatively easy. This puts the coast, sandbar, lagoon lakes and bridges at the centre of a continuous circular route for active days.

Beach access in summer

At the end of Gudmindrup Strandvej, a ramp at Gudmindrup Beach provides access to the water’s edge from 1 June to 31 August, including for wheelchair users. Lifeguards are on duty at Gudmindrup Beach from the end of June to the end of August. When planning a beach day during the season, the relevant periods therefore matter alongside the beach and dunes.

Arne Jacobsen’s summer house

In 1937, Arne Jacobsen built a summer house in Gudmindrup Lyng as a holiday home for himself and his family.
