The black hiking trail Komorze Góry runs between Tanowo and Leśno Górne and is 5.6 km long. In Tanowo, the route begins or ends opposite the MZK bus stop; its first section is 3.1 km long and extends to the Stare Leśno trail junction.
Trails and history
The Komorze Góry hiking trail can be reached from Szczecin or Police by MZK line 102. Tanowo’s documented history dates back to the beginning of the 13th century. The village was destroyed during World War II; next to the church, an overturned monument commemorates the residents who were killed in World War I.
Culture
Tanowo’s sights include a former Protestant church, half-timbered buildings, and two hunting lodges from the early 20th century. A half-timbered building at Szczecińska 67 is considered to have been entered into the register of monuments of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in 1977.
The area around Tanowo includes Szczecin - Zamek XIVw., Wyspa Ostrów, Wyspa Okrętowa, Grodzka Kępa, and Wyspa Gryfia. Further afield in the region are Bröllin Castle, Boock Village Church, and Ahlbeck Village Church.
