Hiking and Nature around Skuleberget

Skuleberget is located north of Docksta next to the E4. Södra Bergstigen is also known as Höga Kusten Stigen and is a 2.1-kilometre hiking trail to the summit of Skuleberget. The trail can also be accessed from Naturum Höga Kusten. Another way to combine hiking with a lift ride is offered by Skulebergets Linbana: it allows you to combine a hike with a ride on the lift. The ride up to or down from the summit of Skuleberget takes about 20 minutes.

Sagostigen in Docksta offers a different focus. Along this walkable trail, visitors can experience the world of legends and folk beliefs surrounding Skuleberget. This includes imaginative display cases created by local schoolchildren. Naturmötesplatsen in Docksta also has an outdoor gym, adding to the opportunities for a stay focused on physical activity.

Culture, History and Craftsmanship

Dockstadagen is a tradition in Docksta with a history of more than 40 years. The event includes a market featuring handicrafts and a food area with local flavours. Those who want to get to know the area through its crafts will find a special link between the present and its origins at Docksta Sko: shoe production there is still carried out by hand and dates back to 1923. Docksta Sko also operates a factory shop selling slippers, home furnishings, clothing and accessories.

Vibyggerå Gamla kyrka is believed to date from the second half of the 13th century or the early 14th century. For a viewpoint, you can reach Per Olsbo from there by following Höga Kustenleden about 1.5 kilometres south and then turning off towards the viewpoint. Per Olsbo can also be reached as a detour from Höga Kustenleden between Skoved and Docksta.

Naturum and Local Orientation

Naturum Höga Kusten is located two kilometres north of Docksta along the E4. In the Docksta area, Naturum Höga Kusten presents an exhibition about how the Höga Kusten World Heritage Site has been shaped by geological processes since the melting of the last Ice Age. During your stay in Höga Kusten, the InfoPoint Naturum Höga Kusten provides tourist information as well as maps and brochures for Kramfors and Höga Kusten. This allows a visit to Docksta to be combined with an introduction to the landscape and further orientation.
