Hiking between pastureland, river and the Baltic Sea

The 23-kilometre Gustavsbergsleden circular trail begins at Kulturpunkten. Along the route lies Brantahallar, a natural pasture area with rare flora and fauna.

A shorter route is the four-kilometre Lilla Kungsleden. It begins near Bromölla and has a car park, picnic tables and an information board. The trail follows the Skräbeån to its mouth at the Baltic Sea.

The trails vary considerably in length and the modes of transport used: the Gustavsbergsleden is 23 kilometres long, the Lilla Kungsleden is four kilometres, while Smugglarrundan covers 19 kilometres by bicycle.

Cycling route and activities on Lake Ivösjön

Smugglarrundan is ideal for exploring the area by bicycle. The 19-kilometre cycling route leads through Bromölla, follows the shore of Lake Ivösjön, passes a canal and then returns to Bromölla.

At Ivöstrand on Lake Ivösjön, there are opportunities for windsurfing and wakeboarding. If, on the other hand, you would like to combine different landscapes on a longer hike or cycling tour, the network of routes around Bromölla includes trails leading to the coast, Lake Ivösjön, beech forests and smaller villages.

Street Art and Industrial History

The Ifö Center combines art with the historic industrial site of Iföverken. It is an independent, artist-run cultural centre. The Ifö Center Utomhusgalleri displays huge murals and works by internationally renowned street artists on former factory buildings and in the centre of Bromölla. For groups, the Ifö Center also offers guided tours of its outdoor area, featuring monumental works by internationally acclaimed artists.

The Iföverken Industrial Museum traces the history of the industrial works from its beginnings in 1887 to the company as it exists today. At the museum, visitors can also cast their own pot. This is a replica of a 2,500-year-old vessel from excavations at Brogården in 1956. Since 1971, Ifötorget has also been home to Scanisaurus, a fountain by Gunnar Nylund.

The two cultural sites differ in their form: the Ifö Center presents art outdoors on former factory buildings and in the centre of Bromölla, while the Industrial Museum focuses on the history of the works and allows visitors to cast their own pot.

Fossils and other destinations

Havsdrakarnas Hus is located in the station's waiting room. The museum presents remains from the Cretaceous period and fossil finds. In connection with Havsdrakarnas Hus, a guided fossil hunt at Åsens Fältstation offers the chance to search for shark teeth, oysters and even marine reptiles.
