The municipality acquired parcels in the Stolper Moor for nature conservation purposes. Galloway cattle graze on the wet meadows to preserve their character as wet grassland. The Vicelinweg is a circular trail that passes through Stolpe. In Stolpe, it follows the Gärtnersteg parallel to Lake Stolper See through a hedgerow landscape. The Limes Saxoniae cycling route also runs through Stolpe; a detour leads to the bathing area at Lake Stolper See.

Since June 22, 2019, the Urzeithof Museum and its farm café have been located in Stolpe. The collection includes fossils, minerals, and extant animals; the Urzeithof presents scientific content to a broad audience. The farm café serves homemade cakes and gateaux, with regional products shaping the seasonal selection. URZEITHOF Stolpe is listed as a visitor attraction in the Plön district.

Stolpe is considered a Slavic settlement founded around 800 AD on the Limes Saxoniae.

Getting there

Stolpe can be reached from Kiel and Bad Segeberg by VKP bus 410. By car, the route leads via the A 21 from the direction of Hamburg or Kiel.
