In Bokhorst, a district of Schillsdorf, the former railway station is a tourist attraction and the home of the local railbike club. The railbike route in Bokhorst follows a disused railway line between Neumünster and Wankendorf and runs away from road traffic. The ride takes you through forests, fields and meadows; along the route, you may see roe deer, fallow deer, storks, pheasants, foxes and hares. For children, the railbike ride is a small adventure, and it is considered suitable for groups of friends, families and clubs.

Culture

The Church of the Holy Spirit is a meeting place for people from Schillsdorf, Großharrie and Rendswühren. The church hosts concerts, readings, cinema church events, book presentations and community festivals. The altar and baptismal font were created by Schleswig-Holstein artist Otto Flath.

Nature

The Eider rises at Schönhagen Estate in the municipality of Schillsdorf and then flows towards the North Sea. Near Schillsdorf, it runs through gentle hills, open fields and villages. Along the Eider, there are opportunities for walks on the riverbank, boat trips and wildlife observation.

The wider Holstein Switzerland region combines lakes, gentle hills, forests, fields and marshes with opportunities for paddling, swimming, walking, cycling and birdwatching. Sights can be explored there by bicycle, on foot or by canoe.
