Tröndel: Hotels and Accommodation

Tröndel is located near the Baltic Sea, nestled amid the gently rolling hills of Schleswig-Holstein’s terminal moraine landscape. The Weddelbek flows through the village; the Baltic Sea is approximately four kilometres away and offers visitors a picturesque panorama.

History

A historic school building erected in 1806 stands in Tröndel as a preserved testament to the village’s history.

The history of the nearby Neuhaus Estate on Lake Selent is closely connected with Tröndel. The estate was founded around 1500 by the Rantzaus and, according to the municipality, is considered the largest estate in Holstein. A historic estate complex with a three-winged manor house and ten listed estate buildings has been preserved there, including a Neo-Gothic gatehouse and former cavalier houses.

Nature and Activities

The wider area of Holstein Switzerland includes the Plön lake district, the Holstein Switzerland Nature Park, as well as several landscape conservation areas, Natura 2000 sites and nature reserves. The wider region around this lake district offers opportunities for hiking, cycling and water sports. The landscape of lakes, streams, wetlands, forests, meadows and gently rolling hills provides the setting for these activities.

The Pilsberg is located in the vicinity of Tröndel. Bocksbarg is situated in the surrounding area. The wider regional area includes the Laboe Naval Memorial, Riemannstein, Kleiner Werder, Möweninsel and St. Nicholas Church.
