The wooden church and its design
Pomieczyno is home to a wooden church dedicated to Saint Joseph. Its domed turrets are designed in the old Zakopane style. The interior contains Baroque elements. This means that the same church combines a distinctive exterior with an interior in a different style—a concrete point of interest for anyone interested in sacred architecture.
Together with the memorial sites, this makes for a cultural focus that stands apart from the activity routes passing through the village.
Memorial sites related to the death march
A plaque at the school at ul. Kartuska 14 commemorates people who died or were murdered in January and February 1945 during the evacuation march of prisoners from the Stutthof concentration camp. The plaque thanks local residents for helping and caring for the prisoners. There is also a mass grave in the parish cemetery for 52 victims of the death march: around 40 men and 12 women, prisoners from the Stutthof concentration camp who were murdered during the evacuation march in February 1945.

Routes for cycling, hiking and other activities
The Błękitna Trasa Rowerowa (Blue Cycling Route) is almost 36.5 kilometres long. It runs from Gdańsk Osowa via Chwaszczyno, Tuchomek, Warzenko, Tokary, Kawle Dolne, Trzy Rzeki, Pomieczyno, Hejtus and Kolonia to Sianowo. Pomieczyno is thus part of a longer cycling route connecting several places. The stated length refers to the entire route.
Another, separate route is open year-round for hiking and cycling, and is also intended for cross-country skiing in winter. It runs via Chwaszczyno, Czeczewo-Trzy Rzeki, Pomieczyno, Hejtus and Sianowo. Unlike the Błękitna Trasa Rowerowa, no length is given for this route; instead, its described stages and intended uses provide guidance when choosing an activity.
The other paths also vary in focus. The red Nordic walking route passes through Pomieczyno, runs via Otalżyno Pomieczyńskie and circles Lake Otalżyno. The horse-riding trail following in the footsteps of General Chodowiecki passes through the village on its route between Gdańsk and Berlin. So, in addition to cycling and hiking routes, a Nordic walking route and a horse-riding trail are also options to consider when planning a trip.
Landscape setting
The Dębica lake valley runs through Pomieczyno and forms part of local ecological corridors. The location of the village’s western part is a separate matter: it lies in the buffer zone of the Kashubian Landscape Park. These details therefore relate to different aspects of the landscape—the lake valley and its place within ecological corridors on the one hand, and the buffer zone west of Pomieczyno on the other. Along with the routes described, they can bring nature and outdoor activities into focus alongside architecture and remembrance.
