Krzyż: Hotels and Accommodations

In Krzyż, a locally supported roadside chapel and a defining watercourse come together. The roadside chapel was initiated in 1934 and financed by local residents. The Czerska Struga rises near the village of Krzyż west of Czersk and flows from there for approximately 32 km until it reaches its mouth at the Brda.

Culture

In the roadside chapel in Krzyż, May devotions, devotions to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and a communal Rosary in October took place. Currently, the dedicated pupils of the primary school in Krzyż are responsible for caring for the chapel.

The local history also includes two memorial sites: Krzyż is home to a prisoner-of-war cemetery for Russian prisoners of war from the First World War, as well as a war cemetery for soldiers of the Soviet Army from 1945. In the wider regional surroundings of Krzyż, there is also the church “Tuchola, Parafia św. Bartłomieja Apostoła”.

Landscape

Białe Góry (Góry Kalwaryjskie), a landscape feature classified as a hill, is located in the surroundings of Krzyż. In the wider regional surroundings of Krzyż, there are also wzgórze nad Górkami, Chełmice, and Wzgorze nad Niezywieciem, each classified as a hill.

Water

A navigable section of the Czerska Struga extends for approximately 16 km and enables recreational trips on the water.

Cycle Paths

Tourist infrastructure was contractually planned for the Krzyż area as part of the “Borowiackie szlaki” project. In connection with “Kaszubska Marszruta”, land for a cycle path, rest areas, and information boards was contractually planned for Krzyż, Malachin, and Klonia.
