Męcikał lies on the eastern edge of Zaborski Landscape Park, in an area surrounded by numerous forests. Lake Trzemeszno lies east of the village; both the lake and the Brda River are nearby.

The red Kashubian Julian Rydzkowski hiking trail reaches Męcikał from Chojnice, passes through Tuchola National Park and crosses the blue Brda Trail. Męcikał lies on Voivodeship Road 235 between Kościerzyna and Chojnice and has PKS and PKP stops. A railway halt bears the name Męcikał.

History and Culture

Męcikał is recorded as a Kashubian settlement; its Kashubian name is Mãcëkôł. Archaeological research suggests that the settlement existed in the Middle Ages, possibly as a watch post on a north–south route with a crossing of the Brda River. Męcikał developed on the site of a medieval inn next to a ford across the Brda River.

Historical records mention a royal inn in Męcikał in 1570 and four inns in 1648. The history of the village also includes patriotic and partisan traditions: a demonstration against Germanisation took place in 1898, while partisan activities occurred in the surrounding forests during the war.
