MÃ¥rup between harbour, beach and island nature

Mårup takes you to two very different coastal landscapes on Samsø: At Mårup Havn, a coastal walk can begin along the stony beach at Asmindør Hage and Fugledal Hage. Mårup Østerstrand, by contrast, is the broad, long sandy beach on Samsø’s east-facing coast. History between farms and harbour

Mårup was originally a settlement founded by people from Nordby. In 1851, the village consisted of 12 farms and 19 houses. Two large farms, Beyergården and Kræmmergården, bear witness to Mårup’s former prosperity. This keeps the village’s history tied to specific names, a year and the settlement’s size at that time.

Nørre Volshøj, a geographical monument, lies in the area around Mårup. Nordby, which is known for its church, is also located nearby.
