Allingåbro between fjord, railway heritage and active trails

Allingåbro looks towards water, former railway lines and a local history that extends into the destination visitors experience today. Around the Alling Å, on Randers Fjord and along the paths between former railway stations, you will find various opportunities for active days and cultural discoveries. The station area in Allingåbro is still relatively well preserved and includes a station building, a warehouse, a toilet building and railway tracks with various technical installations. The preserved structures and technical facilities make the station's former function visible as a tangible part of the townscape.

The Veteranbil Værkstedsmuseet is located in the disused station. There, you can see and experience what a workshop looked like 50 years ago and how cars from the 1930s to the 1960s were repaired. The museum therefore focuses on traditional workshop processes and vehicles from several decades.

Vejlby Church near Allingåbro also represents the historic side of the surrounding area. It is a Romanesque church from the 12th century. Inside, you can see rounded arches, star vaults and colourful decorative medieval wall paintings.
