Güstelitz: Hotels and Accommodation

Alt Güstelitz has a documented history as an estate: the property passed through the hands of the von Scheelen, von Bohlen and von Platen families before being sold to the House of Putbus in 1785. A manor house was built around 1880; however, the remaining buildings are said to have been removed around 1995.

Regional Context

Putbus is located in the southeast of Rügen within the Southeast Rügen UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and offers a rail connection on the Rasender Roland railway, as well as boat tours from Lauterbach to Vilm.

The palace park is located in the immediate vicinity of Güstelitz. The surrounding area also includes the island of Rügen, the island of Pulitz, Muglitzer Ort and the island of Tollow.

Bergen and St. Marien are located in the surrounding area of Güstelitz. Further afield in the region are the Schwedenschanze and Stralsund Zoo.

Trails

Parts of the former route of the Rügen Narrow-Gauge Railway connected with Güstelitz are now used as hiking and cycling paths.
