The municipality of Sassen-Trantow extends across the central Peene Valley, a low terminal moraine running parallel to the Peene, and the Schwinge Valley. It is a municipality in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany.

The valleys of the Peene and the Schwinge are designated nature reserves. The broad Peene Valley contains many small lakes formed by peat cuttings.
