Warnemünde: Hotels and accommodations

Warnemünde combines the Baltic Sea beach, the waterfront along the Alter Strom, harbor activity, and a seaside promenade. Gabled houses and captains’ villas line the older lanes of the fishing village.

Getting there

Warnemünde can be reached from Rostock Central Station by suburban train. There are also bus connections and a ferry service from Hohe Düne.

Coast and nature

The West Pier extends approximately 500 meters into the Baltic Sea. It is used for walking, watching ships, and enjoying views of the harbor and seascape. The Teepott stands directly next to the lighthouse and offers views over the promenade and beach.

West of Warnemünde, the Stoltera nature reserve offers opportunities for walking, cycling, and swimming, as well as nature experiences.

History and culture

The Warnemünde Local History Museum presents the history of the seaside resort, the working lives of fishermen and seafarers, and the development of maritime rescue services. Alexandrinenstraße is one of the oldest streets in the former harbor and fishing village of Warnemünde.

The surrounding area of Warnemünde is home to Rostock Zoo, Doberan Abbey, “Rostock, St. Mary’s Church,” “Bentwisch, Village Church,” “Living in Rostock Sports Park,” Moennichpark, and Bad Doberan Münster.

The wider regional area around Warnemünde is home to Dierhagen Ost Dog Beach.
