Dargelin: Hotels and accommodations

Dargelin lies approximately ten kilometers south of Greifswald at an elevation of 24 meters above sea level. The municipality covers 16 square kilometers and is predominantly agricultural; there is a forest in the north. The Schwinge, a tributary of the Peene, touches the municipal area, as does the Os Sassen-Dersekow-Dargelin geotope.

Dargelin is a municipality in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district and is administered by the Landhagen administrative district, based in Neuenkirchen. The Landhagen administrative district is described as a landscape of meadows and forests near the Greifswald Bodden. It offers recreational opportunities and conditions for nature-oriented relaxation.

History

North and northeast of the eponymous village of Dargelin, traces of settlement from the late Slavic period and an early German motte have been recorded. Dargelin was first documented in 1248 under the names Dargolyn and Dargolin.

Culture and places

The village church in Behrenhoff and Jubelsberg are located in the vicinity of Dargelin. Burgwall is located in the surrounding area. In the wider regional area are Quilow Water Castle, the Trabbi Barn, Grimmen Zoo, Lubmin Beach, and Streng.

Location and transport

Federal state road 35 crosses the municipal area from north to south. The A20 lies west of Dargelin; the Greifswald interchange is approximately 16 kilometers away, and the Gützkow interchange is approximately nine kilometers away. The nearest railway connections are in Greifswald and Groß Kiesow.
