Nature

The lake near Plath is used for swimming by locals and visitors. In Lindetal, riding lessons as well as horse-drawn wagon and carriage rides are offered.

Culture and History

Plath is home to an unbuttressed fieldstone church built around 1500. Also in Plath, a church tower was replaced by the present brick tower in 1854. It was designed by Strelitz master builder Friedrich Wilhelm Buttel. The Vier-Winde-Hof in Plath hosts concerts for locals and visitors.

Leppin Church was originally a towerless fieldstone ashlar building erected around 1300. Its wall paintings were redesigned in 2008 based on historical models. The present tower structure was added in 1843 by Strelitz building councillor Buttel. After a major fire, alterations designed by Friedrich Wilhelm Buttel were carried out on Leppin Manor House in the Tudor style.

The village church of Alt Käbelich is a fieldstone ashlar building from the late 13th century. An exhibition on beekeeping, household and farm work, baking, and home slaughtering is housed in a former electric mill and an agricultural building at Alt Käbelich Estate. A medieval motte-and-bailey castle and a moat have been preserved in the old rectory garden in Dewitz; Dewitz Church is an early medieval fieldstone ashlar building. Ballin Manor House was built in 1837 as a single-storey rendered building with a half-hipped roof.

Visitors can reach the area via the B 96 west of the municipality, the B 104 to the north, and the B 198 to the east.
