Pragsdorf: Hotels and accommodations

Pragsdorf is framed by two small lakes. The municipality is located in the Mecklenburgische Seenplatte district of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany, and combines a water-shaped landscape with a history dating back to the Middle Ages.

Geographical location

Pragsdorf is located approximately 10 kilometers east of Neubrandenburg and approximately 10 kilometers north of Burg Stargard. The municipality is administered from Burg Stargard by the Stargarder Land Amt. It also includes the village of Georgendorf, which was incorporated into Pragsdorf in 1950.

Kanzleiberg and Hunnenberg are located in the area surrounding Pragsdorf. The two small lakes framing the municipality shape the geographical setting of the village.

History and culture

Pragsdorf was first mentioned in 1381 as a feudal estate of the Helpte family. From 1547 to 1918, the estate belonged to the Mecklenburg princes and later to the grand dukes of Mecklenburg-Strelitz.

The village church of Cölpin is located nearby. St. George in Neubrandenburg and the Kulturpark are situated in the surrounding area. In the wider regional area are the ruins of Blankenburg, Wildberg, and Lenné Park.
