Glienke has a circular village layout with a village green, a pond, as well as a centrally located church and a centrally located cemetery. The church was rebuilt from 1770 to 1772 and renovated from 2003 to 2006.
Landscape
The surrounding fields and meadows are shaped by glacial terminal moraines. Differences in elevation of up to 40 meters create a varied landscape.
Paths and Location
The area around Glienke is suitable for both short and long walks and bike rides. At the same time, there are opportunities to observe a diverse range of animal and plant life. In summer, cyclists and walkers use a large round table beneath a linden tree opposite the church as a resting place.
Glienke is located on Federal Highway 197 between Friedland and Neubrandenburg, near the Glienke–Neubrandenburg/Ost motorway junction. Outside the village center, there is a rest stop along the road and a guesthouse.
Culture and Surroundings
The surrounding area of Glienke includes the destinations “Cölpin, Village Church,” “Dahlen, Village Church,” “St. Georg, Neubrandenburg,” and “Kulturpark.” The Kanzleiberg is located nearby. In the wider regional area are the Blankenburg ruins, the Wittenborn Spring, and the Braune-Weiße Spring.
