Moorlands and the Quellental hiking destination

The historic farmstead also displays old sledges, threshing machines, horse harnesses and other agricultural equipment. The range of exhibits spans the history of the village and rural life, as well as specific objects from farming and everyday life.

The village church also combines a historical connection with a distinctive detail: it was first mentioned in 1233 and features a depiction of a mill. According to the municipality, this depiction is unique among village churches in Germany. A monument in the centre of the village also commemorates the “black rooster.” According to legend, the rooster’s crowing alerted people to a fire that was just starting in 1729. The year belongs to this story; the monument commemorates it as a local legend.

Another focus of cultural history is in the village of Stülow. A riding centre there houses a small museum presenting the tradition of Mecklenburg horse breeding.
