Culture and local history

The Kulturscheune serves as a cultural and community centre for the municipality of Admannshagen-Bargeshagen. Many events organised by the municipality’s clubs and groups take place there. For many decades, a barn at Hauptstraße 55 in Bargeshagen served as a livestock barn for the Budde farm. Bargeshagen was first mentioned in a document in August 1286. Admannshagen was first mentioned in writing on 2 February 1302 as “Adamshagen”. These details refer to different place names and dates: Bargeshagen is associated with the documentary mention in August 1286, while Admannshagen is associated with the written reference from 1302 under its name at the time. This makes it possible to associate the historical references with the respective districts.

Admannshagen’s historic buildings include a hall house at Querstraße 8 and a half-timbered barn at Poststraße 3; both are listed as monuments. Mitteldorf also has a war memorial for 1914–18 that is listed as a monument. Together, this selection includes two types of buildings and a monument with a specifically named period. The addresses and place names help distinguish these three different historical points of reference.

Pandino Kinderspielwelt in Bargeshagen offers 3,200 square metres of attractions, including go-kart tracks for children aged three and over and adults, a climbing tower and a ninja course. The cycle path between Bargeshagen and Admannshagen was opened on 30 May.
