Klippinge between the Town Park, Hills and Cultural History

Klippinge Town Park is a 35,000 m² green recreational area with a 1-kilometre network of paths. Orientation and arrival

Klippinge Town Park is 400 m from Klippinge railway station. There is parking at the entrance on Lindencronevej. The park is accessibility-friendly, with wide paths and easy access to all facilities. Klippinge is also a stop on the 110R/210R Østbanen route.

Hills and cycling route

Klippinge Hills form a distinctive landscape. The two prominent hills lie in an otherwise flat landscape, are visible from a great distance and are also impressive to experience up close. For active travel plans, the third stage of the Deluxeroute is another option. It runs for 26 kilometres from Rødvig to Klippinge along the Stevns Klint UNESCO World Heritage Site. Compared with the 1-kilometre network of paths in the Town Park, this is a considerably longer connection between two places; the two routes can therefore be considered separately in terms of scale and landscape.

Cultural and historical attractions

The Maglehøj Passage Grave, an ancient site, is located in the vicinity of Klippinge. The Texas Ranch (Western Land) near Klippinge is one of the municipality of Stevns’s existing larger visitor centres and amusement parks.

Magleby Church on Stevns was originally built around 1200 in the Romanesque style using chalk stone. Only the longitudinal walls of the central part of the nave remain from the original church. The oldest part of the brick porch dates from the Early Gothic period around 1300. Magleby Church also has an altarpiece created by the Tryggevælde Master in 1606. The different traces in the building and furnishings give the church a cultural and historical depth that may play a role when choosing a location personally.
