Landscape and circular trails

The picturesque valleys of the Korytnica streams lie in the area around the town; wooded, hilly areas also surround Mirosławiec. If you enjoy spending time outdoors during your stay, the Pętla Mirosławiecka offers a specific starting point for planning: this circular trail is 31.35 kilometres long and is designated along its entire length for pedestrians, cyclists and Nordic walking enthusiasts. Its length helps you compare the route with your travel plans, but does not indicate how long it takes to walk or how difficult it is. The designated uses may also help you choose between a walking trip and a cycling trip.

The blue circular trail, which passes through the town centre, is a separate route. It ends with an opportunity to visit the ruins of Wedel Castle. If you would like to take in historical traces as well as the landscape during a walk, you can consider this route as a separate option; it should not be confused with the 31.35-kilometre Pętla.

Culture and remembrance

The Museum of the Battles for the Pomeranian Wall is located in the cultural centre in Mirosławiec. Since 2011, the centre has also had a hall dedicated to the history of military aviation. The two subjects connect the cultural centre with the region’s wartime history and military aviation, but focus on different topics. Monuments in the townscape also commemorate military history and aviation. A T-34/85 tank monument commemorates the soldiers who fell in battle for the town in 1945. A SU-22 aircraft monument recalls the residents’ 58-year connection with military aviation. The monument to Our Lady of Loreto, in turn, is dedicated to all aviators who served and continue to serve in Polish skies. Each of these three places of remembrance has its own connection: to those who fell in battle for the town, to the residents’ connection with military aviation, and to aviators in Polish skies.

Buildings and historical traces

The Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built in 1721 by the von Blankenburg family. Its features include an 18th-century baptismal font and a choir gallery. The church thus brings together the building’s construction date and individual historical elements from the 18th century. The von Blankenburg family cemetery on Góra Piaskowa in Mirosławiec dates from the 19th century; it adds a distinct place and a later period to the history associated with the family.

Another historical trace is the Wedel castle courtyard, which dates from around 1375 and is surrounded by a moat. It is distinct from the ruins of Wedel Castle, the destination at the end of the blue circular trail. You can therefore choose among several different points of interest: a castle courtyard with a moat, the castle ruins as a sightseeing destination at the end of the blue circular trail, and the church and cemetery with their connections to the von Blankenburg family.

The Regional Bison Centre in Mirosławiec is also part of the cultural centre and is run by the centre. Together with the museum and the hall dedicated to military aviation, it shows that the cultural centre covers several different subjects.
