Stare Czarnowo between Landscape, Culture and History

In the landscape context of Stare Czarnowo, the Bukowa Forest is part of Szczecin Landscape Park. Szczecin Landscape Park was established across an area of more than 20,000 hectares and encompasses a complex of high hills. This places different scales side by side in the surrounding area: the individual town, the larger park landscape, and individual landscape points in the regional surroundings. Nature, culture, history and cycling can be considered as separate themes without combining them into a single travel concept.

Nature and Landscape

In the wider regional surroundings of Stare Czarnowo are Góry Lipki, Mieleński Ostrów and Ostrów Grabowski. Lisica is located in the area surrounding the town. These names represent different spatial references: three landscape points are assigned to the wider regional surroundings, while Lisica lies in the surrounding area. Culture and History

The Church of Our Lady Help of Christians is located in Stare Czarnowo. There is also a war memorial in Stare Czarnowo. Szczecin - Zamek XIVw. is also located in the wider regional surroundings. In the area surrounding Stare Czarnowo, Kołbacz has a monastery complex associated with a former Cistercian abbey. The monks of this abbey came to Pomerania from Denmark in the 12th century. Religious architecture, commemoration, historic architecture and monastic history thus represent different cultural approaches.

Glinna War Cemetery is considered one of several large German war cemeteries in Poland. Together with the war memorial, it forms a separate historical theme that differs from the church building and the former monastery complex. The dating of the monks' arrival from Denmark to Pomerania refers to the 12th century, while the cemetery and the war memorial remain assigned to the theme of commemoration.

Cycling

A planned 9-kilometre cycle route is intended to connect Stare Czarnowo, Kołbacz and Szczecin. The route is therefore designed as a separate active theme alongside landscape and history. Its stated length provides a clear framework for route planning, while the connection between the three named places describes the spatial direction of the project. Cycling can thus be considered separately from the cultural and landscape entries.

The thematic classification of Stare Czarnowo therefore comprises three different levels side by side: the park landscape with its named landscape points, the cultural and historical sites, and the planned cycle connection. Which of these levels takes centre stage can shape further travel planning without mixing the individual details together.
