Śliwin is located in northwestern Poland, in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, Gryfice County and the Rewal Municipality. The village is situated on the Szczecin Coast, approximately 1 km southeast of Rewal. Plaża Niechorze is located nearby.

Śliwin is documented as having a rural character. Historically, the older settlement lay among cultivated fields; the locality also historically included an area for seaside recreation. The surrounding area includes Plaża w Pogorzelicy and Pobierowo Plaża; in the wider regional area lies Plaża w Dziwnowie.
Culture
Śliwin has more than 730 years of documented history, with origins dating back to the 12th century. Medieval sources recorded the place as provincia Slevin, meaning “Kraina Śliwin”. In the wider regional area around Śliwin lies Trzebiatow - Zespol palacowo-zamkowy z XVIII w.
History
A narrow-gauge railway has run through Śliwin since 1896. A newly built stop was recorded beside the road to Karnice in 2013. The coastal narrow-gauge railway line through the Rewal Municipality includes Śliwin as one of its stops; the approximately 10 km route runs via Trzęsacz–Rewal–Śliwin–Niechorze–Pogorzelica.
