It is 19 meters tall and weighs 4.5 tonnes. Its height and weight give a concrete sense of the structure’s scale; at the same time, the replica points to its original on Giewont. At the foot of the Bałtycki Krzyż Nadziei is the “Sursum Corda” sanctuary. It is an open-air sanctuary and is described as the only shrine of its kind in Poland. The sanctuary is also the starting point for many pilgrimages, including a walking pilgrimage to Jasna Góra and a motorcycle pilgrimage to the cross on Giewont. The religious connection thus encompasses both the sanctuary at the foot of the cross and two different forms of pilgrimage.
Routes and activities
For travelers wishing to include a walking route, there is a specific option: the black-marked Western Connector Trail. It is about three kilometers long and runs between Pustkowo and Pobierowo. In Pustkowo, the trail begins on Słoneczna Street and leads via Nadmorska Street to the Bałtycki Krzyż Nadziei.
