Czaplinek: Hotels and accommodation

Czaplinek is considered to be surrounded by lakes, giving it an island-like location. Jezioro Drawsko covers 1,781.5 hectares, is 79.7 metres deep at its deepest point, and has 12 islands, including Bielawa.

Nature and water

The Gmina Czaplinek characterises the wider area: it encompasses more than 30 lakes, forests cover 40 % of its area, and almost one third of the municipality lies within Drawski Landscape Park.

History and culture

Czaplinek was granted town rights in 1291. Historically, together with Drahim Castle, the town served as Poland’s northernmost fortress from 1407 until the beginning of the second half of the 17th century.

Czaplinek’s sights include the Parish Church of the Holy Trinity, the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, Sławogród, the Municipal Museum Chamber, as well as monuments to the Pope and a fisherman.

Land and water routes

A hiking trail crosses the Czaplinek area for approximately 40 kilometres and is also open to cyclists. From Czaplinek, cycling routes extend towards the lakes, Stare Drawsko, Drawski Landscape Park and nearby nature reserves.

A kayaking route begins in Czaplinek and is connected to a route once travelled by John Paul II.

Spyczyna Góry is located in the area surrounding Czaplinek. In the wider regional area are Racza, Wola Góra, Skotna Góra and Połczyn Zdrój – Zamek książęcy XIIIw.
