Bad Polzin: Hotels and Accommodation

Połczyn-Zdrój is a spa town nestled among moraine hills in the area known as “Połczyn Switzerland”. The town is associated with treatments using natural therapeutic peat and brine.

Culture and History

The townscape includes a market square, 19th-century townhouses and a castle-palace dating from 1290. Of the earliest structure, only the original cellars have survived, while the rest of the building reflects a reconstruction carried out in the 18th century. Połczyn-Zdrój is also home to a 19th-century watermill with a mill wheel measuring 12 metres in diameter.

Landscape and Nature

Wola Góra is located in the area surrounding Połczyn-Zdrój. The municipality is home to seven rivers, three of which rise there. There is also a strict nature reserve, protected landscape areas, nature and landscape complexes, as well as protected plant and animal species.

Almost half of the municipality of Połczyn-Zdrój lies within the Drawski Landscape Park or its buffer zone; around two-thirds of its area is included in Natura 2000.

Cycling

A cycling route approximately 27 kilometres long leads from Połczyn-Zdrój to Złocieniec. It runs along a former railway embankment, is paved and reserved for cyclists. The route passes through the Drawski Landscape Park; there are no steep climbs because it follows the railway embankment.
