Świdwin: Hotels and Accommodations

Świdwin is located in the historic region of Pomerania on the left bank of the Rega River and is connected to this river. The town lies approximately 44 km south of the Baltic coast near Kołobrzeg.

History and Culture

In the immediate vicinity of Świdwin is the “Świdwin - Zamek XIII-XIVw.” castle, dating from the 13th and 14th centuries. The wider surrounding region is also home to the “Połczyn Zdrój - Zamek książęcy XIIIw.” castle, dating from the 13th century.

The “Technical Heritage and Architecture Trail” runs through the municipalities of Świdwin and Brzeżno. It includes palace and manor-house architecture, former railway viaducts, mills, and distilleries.

On the left bank of the Rega, Świdwin has a Hospitaller castle whose history has included several successive political and religious owners since the 13th century. Each year, the event “Wojna o krowę” commemorates the conflict between the inhabitants of Świdwin and Białogard in 1469.

Nature and Landscape

The Jezioro czapli educational trail runs along Lake Oparzno within the Świdwin municipality. The trail is approximately 1.5 km long and includes information boards, a rest area, a fire pit, and a 24 m long viewing pier.

Lake Oparzno is associated with the park surrounding it, as well as with its fauna and flora. Góra Iwki and Wola Góra are also located in the wider surrounding region of Świdwin.

Routes and Activities

Within the county, the Kocioł Świdwiński covers 62.7 km and follows woodland areas associated with the fighting south of Świdwin in March 1945. The Świdwin County is also associated with kayaking, fishing, and hunting.
