Geographical Location

Pidun is located on the southwestern shore of Lake Åšrednie (Heron Lake) in the southern part of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship.

History and Culture

The village was founded in 1755 under the historical German name Schutschen Theer-Ofen, which was later changed to Schutschenofen.

The wider regional surroundings of Pidun include Szczytno - Teutonic Castle, 14th century, DÄ…browa, and Nidzica - Teutonic Castle, 14th century.

A monument at the southern edge of the village commemorates the inhabitants who lost their lives in the First World War.

Transport and Other Places

Road access is connected to Voivodeship Road DW 508. This connects Jedwabno/DK 58 with Rekownica–Wielbark/DK 57. Pidun has no railway connection.
