Jaśkowo is located 350 meters north of Jezioro Nidzkie (Niedersee). Historically, the place was considered to be situated on an island between lakes, in a forested and sandy area of Masuria.

Jaśkowo is located in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in Piski County and in the Municipality of Pisz. In the wider regional surroundings of Jaśkowo are Kadzidłowo and Szeroki Ostrów.

History

Jaśkowo was founded in 1570 as an ironworks settlement and is therefore historically connected with iron processing. An ironworks was built there in the 16th century, remained in relatively good condition until the late 18th century, and was described as unique in the surrounding Masurian area.
