Kotkowo is a village in the municipality of Łukta, in Ostróda County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, located on Lake Gil.

Landscape

Lake Gil, also known as Lake Kotkowo or Dziki Gil, is located south of Kotkowo in the Taborskie Forests.

Lake Isąg is located in the wider area, in the municipality of Łukta. It has a well-developed shoreline, predominantly high banks and wooded southern shores; the Pasłęka River flows through it.

The Wyspa Lipowa nature reserve is also located in the wider area, in the municipality of Łukta. It encompasses an island in Lake Marąg and protects the landscape, a cormorant colony and plant life.

History

The cultural attraction “Ostróda – Teutonic Castle, 14th century” is located in the vicinity of Kotkowo.
