Guzowy Piec is a village in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in Olsztyn County and the Gietrzwałd Commune. The village is located on Lake Guz, also known as Lake Guzowy Piec. The lake covers 10.6 hectares, reaches a maximum depth of 5 metres, and is surrounded by forest and a wide belt of reeds.

Nature

Floating and submerged aquatic plants grow in Lake Guz. The body of water also provides a habitat for a diverse invertebrate fauna and for fish such as crucian carp, bream, roach, perch, tench and pike.

An educational trail runs around Lake Guzowy Piec through pine forest and meadows. Information boards provide details about the local flora and fauna; from several viewpoints, visitors can enjoy views of the lake.

In the immediate vicinity of Guzowy Piec, cycling routes run towards Olsztyn and Gietrzwałd and onward into the larger Masurian lake and forest region. Gietrzwałd is associated with the Marian apparitions of 1877 and is considered a pilgrimage site linked to places of Marian devotion.
