Milki: Hotels and Accommodation

Miłki is home to a Gothic church dating from the 15th century. It was rebuilt in the 18th century; the altar and organ loft date from the late 17th century. The building was formerly a Protestant church; today, it is the Roman Catholic parish church of Our Lady, Queen of Poland, with an adjoining church cemetery.

History

The church is listed as a former Protestant church and today’s Roman Catholic parish church of Our Lady, Queen of Poland, together with its churchyard; the entry bears the year 1669. Historical memorials associated with the local church commemorated parishioners who died in the First World War.

Miłki is considered a local administrative and service centre with limited industry. The settlement was granted a charter in 1474 and was settled by Masurian colonists. In Giżycko County, Miłki is one of the rural municipalities; Giżycko, Kruklanki and Wydminy are also rural municipalities.
