Straduny: Hotels and accommodations

A 135-kilometre-long hiking trail runs through Straduny from Ełk to Gołdap. The hiking trail continues along the shore of Lake Straduńskie towards Malinówka. The area surrounding the hiking trail around the village also includes Lake Łaśmiady, undulating terrain, small lakes and small woodland areas.

Geographical location

Straduny is considered an old Masurian village in the Polish Voivodeship of Warmia and Masuria, in Ełk County and the Gmina Ełk. Góra Jelonka is located in the wider regional area around Straduny.

Culture and history

The cultural centre of Gmina Ełk is based in Straduny. The historical origins of the village are associated with a settlement from 1486 and the construction of a stone Teutonic Order manor or a small castle on the steep bank of the Ełk River.

The Church of Our Lady, Queen of Poland, in Straduny was built between 1736 and 1738 in place of an older wooden church. It was Protestant until 1945; after the Second World War, it became a Polish Roman Catholic church.
