Partille – Trails, Culture and History
Accommodation in Partille
Partille combines trails along the Säveån with culture, local history and active experiences. The area is accessible by bus and commuter train. When choosing a place to stay, your plans for the day can help you decide: the river trails and Kulturum are at the heart of the area, while the arena, church, and nearby historic and natural attractions offer a different focus. This means you can find short walks, a walk accompanied by an app, and cultural or event venues all in the same destination. If you explore the surrounding area, you can also choose between the industrial history of Jonsereds brukssamhälle and the nature trail in Bokedalen.

Trails along the Säveån and walking experiences
In central Partille, accessible trails run along the Säveån on gravel or asphalt, with no inclines. Both the flat route and the choice of surface shape the character of these trails. The Bävern walking trail is also in the centre and is 800 metres long—a short route for a leisurely stroll. The river trails are defined by their surface and flat terrain, while Bävern stands out for its manageable length. For a different kind of outing, try the dramatised walk “Det är något mellan bergen”: follow its story as you walk, using a mobile app. The trails therefore differ not only in length and surface, but also in the storytelling format of this app-based experience.
Kulturum and local history
Partille Kulturum is located in the heart of the town centre at Gamla Kronvägen 56 and stretches 200 metres along the street. It is the municipality’s cultural and educational centre, offering a different focus from the river trails, which showcase the area’s natural side. Partille kyrka adds a long historical perspective: it is estimated to have been built sometime between about 1150 and 1250. The church therefore dates from a much earlier period than Jonsereds brukssamhälle, whose industrial setting is associated with the second half of the 19th century.
Industrial history and nature nearby
Jonsereds brukssamhälle is nearby and is one of Sweden’s best-preserved industrial environments from the second half of the 19th century. It is a place to visit for travellers interested in the industrial character of historic communities. Bokedalen is also nearby. There, a marked, four-kilometre nature trail winds through varied landscapes featuring broadleaf woodland, old coniferous forest, wooden walkways and cultural attractions. The two destinations offer different experiences: Jonsereds brukssamhälle represents a historic industrial environment, while Bokedalen offers a trail through woodland and cultural landscapes. When planning an outing, you can choose between industrial history and a nature trail.
Partille Arena and events
In addition to Hall A, Partille Arena has a smaller Hall B, a restaurant, a gym, a bowling alley and four meeting rooms. The arena can be adapted for different events. For concerts, the maximum capacity is 6,025 people; the capacity may change when the venue is reconfigured. For travellers interested in events, the arena is a destination in its own right, alongside the trails and historic attractions. If you are planning to attend a concert, note that the capacity figure is the maximum for concerts; it does not apply unchanged to every possible configuration.
