Historical Periods at Egtved Museum
Egtved Museum is a local history museum with objects from various historical periods, from the Stone Age to the 20th century. One exhibition covers the period from the Stone Age to 1960–1980, thus also focusing on more recent history. Another exhibition presents the history of fish farming in the Egtved Å and the streams that flow into it. The theme remains rooted in the waterways around Egtved. For those interested in culture, the museum therefore offers both a collection spanning different periods and a specific theme from the surroundings of the Egtved Å.
The Egtved Girl’s Find Site
The site where the Egtved Girl was found includes the reconstructed Egtved Storhøj and a small exhibition house. The exhibition house displays a copy of the oak coffin in which the Egtved Girl was buried. Egtvedpigens Verden is a modern museum in the landscape where the Egtved Girl lived and moved around 3,400 years ago. Egtvedpigens Verden is also a significant stopping point along Hærvejen and is located at the reconstructed burial site of the Egtved Girl. The reference to 3,400 years relates to the life and movement of the Egtved Girl in this landscape. The find site thus brings together the reconstructed burial mound, the exhibition house and the copy of the oak coffin in a shared spatial context.
