Riverside paths and routes to choose from

The Kävlinge Fågelstig (Bird Trail) follows a route of about 1.5 kilometres along the Kävlingeån between Måsängen and Kråkängen. Four information boards feature illustrations of around twenty bird species that walkers may encounter. The trail thus combines its course along the river with a specific nature theme: alongside the route itself, the bird species depicted are brought into focus.

Hälsans stig (the Health Trail) is a six-kilometre walking route with several named waypoints. It passes Gamla kyrkan in Kävlinge, descends to the river and continues over two bridges to Furulund and Viken before returning to the centre of Kävlinge. The church, river and bridges give this route a different course from the Fågelstig.

Kävlinge’s tree walk adds another option: a circular route of about four kilometres around the town of Kävlinge. Based on the stated distances, it falls between the approximately 1.5-kilometre Fågelstig and the six-kilometre Hälsans stig. The routes also differ in how they run: one follows the river, one passes several named stops, and one loops around the town.

Local history and art

Gamla kyrkan in Kävlinge was built in 1157 from local grey stone. Its age and building material give local history a tangible connection to the area: the stone comes from the surrounding region. Those interested in historic buildings will find a different way to experience Kävlinge here than on the paths along the river.

Kaptenens park in Stationsstaden also combines a connection to the town with thoughtful design. The park was named after Carl Edvard Brodin, has a Mediterranean-inspired design and offers spacious play areas. It was completed in 2023. Alongside history and art, it adds landscaped open spaces, with a focus different from that of the walking routes.

The artworks of Elektrifierad konst i Kävlinge (Electrified Art in Kävlinge) form a route from the railway station along Mårtensgatan to Unionstorget. Its stops give art its own path through Kävlinge. The artwork “Mellan å och räls” (Between River and Rail), in turn, reflects Kävlinge’s present and history between the winding Kävlingeån and the course of the railway line.

“Mellan å och räls” was created by Björn Carnemalm and Johanna Rehn together with more than 200 residents. They took part over several weeks in autumn 2025 through workshops and encounters with passers-by.

More places to visit in town

Harjagersbadet in Kävlinge has a swimming pool measuring 25 by 25 metres. This is a clearly specified offering to consider when planning your trip, alongside the paths, art and historic sites.

Kulturhuskaféet in Kävlinge serves sandwiches and baguettes, cakes, and pâté with salad; Lundaknaken is also on the menu on Fridays. This selection can complement the local places to visit as you explore what Kävlinge offers in terms of nature, culture and activity.

Silverforsen Folkets Park in Kävlinge is a folk park and meeting place run by an association. Together with the whole of Kävlinge, it organises events. The park thus adds a community-oriented event venue to the options, while the riverside paths, artworks and Gamla kyrkan each appeal to different interests.
