Culture and History

The Gettorf Local History Museum stands next to a historic mill dating from 1869. In the Seidel Room, it displays objects from the 18th and 19th centuries. The coach house contains agricultural, carpentry and blacksmithing tools, as well as historic carriages from around 1925.

St. Jürgen's Church preserves a baptismal font from 1482, a Marian altar from 1520 and a Gudewerdt pulpit dating from 1598. It also houses a historic Marcussen organ from 1866. Between 1460 and 1530, St. Jürgen's Chapel developed into an important pilgrimage site in the duchy.

Guided tours focusing on cultural history and tower ascents at St. Jürgen's Church can be arranged for groups of six or more.
