Schlesen: Hotels and Accommodation
Schlesen is located on the northeastern shore of Lake Dobersdorf.
Lake Dobersdorf
A walk around Lake Dobersdorf can begin at Schlesen’s bathing area with its seasonal bathing island, which is available in summer. Walking and cycling paths around the lake and in the nearby areas lead through fields, forests, and villages.
Locally, Lake Dobersdorf is considered rich in fish and suitable for angling. The rental boats offered through the Schlesen Angling Club are intended exclusively for fishing. They are 3.80-meter-long, sturdy rowing boats with two anchors.
For reasons of nature conservation, surfing and boating are prohibited on Lake Dobersdorf so that the birdlife is not disturbed.
Nature
Schlesen is situated in a hilly landscape with numerous hedgerows. On the eastern shore of Lake Dobersdorf is the Natura 2000 FFH area “Calcareous lowland meadow on the eastern shore of Lake Dobersdorf.”
Culture and History
Schlesen’s preserved school building from 1891 serves as a community center. There is also a restored old smithy. The village chronicle documents local history. Historically, Schlesen was associated with Salzau Estate.
