Culture and History
Historical traces are also part of the character of the locality: in 1570, Donimierz comprised 12 łany and belonged to four Donimirski brothers; in 1682, the locality had five owners. Records from 1686 state that Donimierz belonged to the parish in Szemud and was assigned to the post office in Smażyno.
Historically, Donimierz was known as Wielki Donimierz; its Kashubian name is Dolmiérz. The Muzeum Emigracji is also located in the wider regional area.
