Stary Dzierzgoń: Hotels and Accommodation

Stary Dzierzgoń received its founding charter on 14 April 1312 in Przezmark under the name Alde Kirsburg (Stary Kiszpork) – as a rent-paying village under Kulm law.

The local church was built in the 14th century and later rebuilt. Historical visual records document the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a war memorial, a post office, and an inn in Stary Dzierzgoń.

Historical Context

Stary Dzierzgoń is located in the historic region of Upper Prussia (Prusy Górne) and is considered one of the oldest settlements in this part of the Iława Lakeland. Historically, the village was the seat of a forestry office responsible for the Prussian Forest; at the end of the 18th century, two forest districts were established there and in Siemiany.

Location and Transport History

The village is located at the intersection of Voivodeship Roads 515 and 519. The former railway station building now serves as a clinic; the former Prabuty–Kwidzyn railway line was built in 1916 and closed in 1946.
