Viewpoints and the Droga Kaszubska

There are two viewpoints on Góra Sobótka hill in Ręboszewo. One of them leads to a Koźlak windmill building. The viewpoints and windmill building give the town’s description a specific landscape feature, while the Droga Kaszubska adds a driving route with several named stops. Ręboszewo thus offers both a hilltop destination and a route through the Kashubian landscape.

The route of the Droga Kaszubska is clearly defined: from Łapalice through Chmielno and Ręboszewo to the Złota Góra viewpoint. The two viewpoints on Góra Sobótka offer a different focus from the sequence of stops along the route: here, the hill and its named viewpoints are the main features. Waterways and Kashubian lakes

The “Kółko Raduńskie” water route adds a second kind of route: it passes through Ręboszewo. The Radunia flows through Lake Wielkie Brodno, where it forms a kayaking route about 37 km long.

Culture and routes in the wider destination of Karthaus

The Gothic collegiate church there dates from the 14th century, is one of Pomerania’s most valuable architectural monuments and is unique on a national scale. It bears witness to the work of the Carthusian Order. A distinctive architectural feature is the Baroque roof in the shape of a coffin lid. It symbolizes the monastic ideals of the Carthusian Order and the motto “memento mori”.

The Franciszek Treder Kashubian Museum in Kartuzy also showcases Kashubian cultural heritage. Its subject areas include literature, material culture, language, and regional history and traditions. The exhibition is spread across eight rooms in the main building. The building also houses Bazyli’s smithy, the exhibition “Kaszubska współczesność z korzeni wyrasta” and temporary exhibitions. The church and museum thus offer different perspectives: the collegiate church represents a significant architectural landmark and its history as an order, while the museum explores diverse aspects of Kashubian cultural heritage.

Routes are also part of what the wider destination of Karthaus has to offer. The Promenada Asesora is a walking and cycling path beside Jezioro Karczemne in Kartuzy, connected to the Ławka Asesora, a viewpoint in Kartuzy. Another promenade beside Jezioro Klasztorne Małe was created in 2020. The green Nordic walking route around Kartuzy starts and ends at the Ławka Asesora; it passes through forest over hilly terrain and close to small woodland lakes. The Kartuska Nature Bike Route is just under 26 km long and marked in green.

Kartuzy has good rail connections with Trójmiasto. Nordic Walking Route No. 1 is about 8.4 km long and takes around two hours; check the route details before setting out.
