Geographical location
The wider region around Leśno includes Bytów, with a Gothic castle dating from the 14th and 15th centuries, as well as Siemierzycka Góra. Chełmice, Białe Góry (Góry Kalwaryjskie), and Nowe Slone (200 m) are located in the surrounding area.

Culture and history
The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Leśno is considered a well-preserved wooden Kashubian church built between 1634 and 1687. It has a 32-metre-high wooden bell tower, which is considered the tallest wooden structure of its kind in Poland.
The church is a half-timbered structure made of pinewood; its historic appearance developed through several construction phases.
