In the immediate surroundings of Åby, Lunnsjöskogen Nature Reserve offers another orange-marked circular trail of three kilometres. Thus, in addition to the longer loop at Ågelsjön, there are trails with a stated distance that is significantly shorter. A hiking trail also passes through the Torshagsravinen gorge. The gorge is approximately 150 metres from the centre of Åby and can be reached by bus routes 430 and 432. Ättetorpskyrkan was inaugurated on 9 December 1962. Its furnishings include a baptismal font made of Kolmården marble; the chancel window was designed by the artist Jan Brazda. An even older insight is provided by the Stone Age settlement L2011:2734. Finds of pit-comb pottery, as well as worked stones, bones and fired clay, were discovered there. The local history therefore ranges from a 20th-century church building to archaeological finds from the Stone Age.
