Wusterhusen: Hotels and Accommodations

Wusterhusen is situated on a gently undulating ridge between the Greifswald Bodden to the north and the Ziese lowlands to the south. The elevations range from 15.7 to 34.9 meters above sea level – a geographic location that places the town between the Bodden landscape and the lowlands.

Geographical Setting

Wusterhusen is located approximately 16 kilometers east of Greifswald and approximately 2 kilometers south of Lubmin. The town is situated on the K22 between Wolgast and Greifswald.

Surroundings

Lubmin Beach is located in the vicinity of Wusterhusen. Dänholm, Kleiner Wotig, and Struck, as well as Wolgast Zoo, are also located in the surrounding area. In the wider regional area lies the Trassenheide Butterfly Farm.

Culture and History

Wusterhusen is home to one of the oldest Slavic place and landscape names in Pomerania. The name was first documented on December 3, 1150, as “Wostrose.” The church in Wusterhusen is considered a local point of interest.

The Peenemünde Oxygen Plant and Test Stand VII Peenemünde are also located in the vicinity of Wusterhusen.
