Mönkebude: Hotels and accommodations

A sandy beach on the Szczecin Lagoon is located next to Mönkebude harbor. The marina is sheltered on the southern side of the small lagoon and offers approximately 90 permanent and guest berths. A sailing trip on a historic Zeesenboot fishing boat is available as a maritime experience in the area.

Culture

The Fischerstube Museum in Mönkebude preserves the local fishing heritage with nets, traps, tools, and photographs connected to the fishing community on the Szczecin Lagoon. The Fischerstube also houses Mönkebude’s tourist information office, where visitors can find information and rent bicycles. Several restaurants in Mönkebude serve freshly caught fish.

Nature and trails

Mönkebude is located near the Ueckermünde Heath forest area and the Szczecin Lagoon Nature Park. The wider surrounding area can be explored via 600 kilometers of cycle paths and 400 kilometers of hiking trails.

Cöthen is located near Mönkebude. The surrounding area includes Strandpark, St. Mary’s Church, Neidbullen, and the Ueckermünde motocross track. The wider regional area includes Usedom Island, Schlossberg, and Heringsdorf’s dog beach. Usedom’s imperial spas are considered a possible destination for a day trip from Mönkebude within the wider regional area.
