Amt Neubukow-Salzhaff extends to the Baltic Sea along its western and northwestern edges, with approximately 18 kilometers of Baltic Sea coastline. The area also includes approximately 25 kilometers of Bodden coastline, including the Salzhaff and its side arm, Kroy.

The eastern part of the area includes a section of the Kühlung ridge. Tourism is particularly emphasized in the coastal area around Rerik.
