Friedrichsruhe is situated predominantly in low-lying areas on both sides of the Mühlenbach stream. The Mühlenbach originates in a lake landscape east of Friedrichsruhe. The Tempelberg is located northeast of Frauenmark; at 83.3 metres above sea level, it is the highest point in the municipality. The Tempelberg is also located near Friedrichsruhe.
